The Abortion Project, the first of its kind in Australia, is a peer-led support group that aims to connect individuals who have had abortions. Rooted in pro-choice and pro-abortion values, The Abortion Projects commitment to peer support as a form of abortion after-care is intricately linked to their political advocacy. In designing the identity, it was crucial to strike a balance between an inviting and gentle approach for those seeking support, while also commanding a sense of legitimacy and authority for their political advocacy.
At the core of this identity is a symbol hand-drawn by Lily, one of the co-founders, which informed how the identity was developed utilising a relaxed illustrative style.
